Playa Langosta is a beach for folks who like hunting for shells and searching tide pools for treasures. It is reported to be a surfing beach for advanced surfers as well. The riptide is pretty extreme, there is tons of volcanic rock, lots of driftwood and other interesting things buried just under the surface of the sand.
I entered this beach from just north of the estuary at the south end of Langosta, and walked north, to see how long it might take me to get to Tamarindo. It was a fun walk full of interesting sights, but in the end, I had to turn back. It was farther than I was prepared to walk, and it was getting too hot for me to handle!
