An Experiment in Hand-Painting

An Experiment in Hand-Painting

A technique I'd been wanting to try for a while was hand-painting using Ranger Perfect Pearls. It took me a while to find the right stamp with which to try this technique. Once I did, I found the painting to be both easy and difficult.

The heat embossed outline of the images makes it easy to stay within the lines, as the embossed area resists the Perfect Pearls. However, I found it challenging to keep the amount of paint even across the image. You can see in this photo how in some areas the coverage is much thinner than others.

Regardless of the imperfections, this card was fun to do, and I will definitely try this technique again. The background is a piece of black Recollections cardstock adhered to a piece of specialty shimmer cardstock in a khaki color. The gold leaf is a die cut by with the Silhouette Cameo 4 from a piece of gold mirror paper. The sentiment is foiled with Deco Foil in Glass Slipper.
